About Agyata
What we build
Agyata is a news site covering finance, markets, business and technology, in 19 country editions and their local languages. Each story is a single hashtag thread that grows as events develop, so a story you follow keeps one URL and one timeline instead of fragmenting into duplicates. Alongside the news there is a markets page with market data, a daily newsletter you can subscribe to, and optional browser notifications. You do not need an account to read, follow, like, or comment; a comment shows a random, rerollable handle.
How the news is made
Every story starts from real, published articles from established outlets. Our editorial process reads those sources and writes a clean, neutral summary in its own words, always linking back to the originals; the sources are shown on every update so you can check them. Stories are updated hourly, around the clock. Developments append to the same hashtag thread over time. Headlines and summaries may be written by AI models from the cited sources; see our editorial policy for how that is labelled and checked.
How we pay for it
Core features are free and will stay free. Agyata is ad-supported via Google AdSense, and businesses can run sponsored stories that appear in the feed clearly labelled as sponsored (see /advertise). We do not sell user data.
How small is the team
Small. A single engineer writing product code, running on Cloudflare Workers and D1. No VC, no investor pressure to grow at any cost.
