Indian Equity Benchmarks Post Strong Weekly Loss

The Indian equity benchmarks, Nifty and Sensex, have posted a strong weekly loss due to global inflation fears and higher crude prices. The Nifty lost 2.33% during the week, while the Sensex lost 2.68%. The Sensex closed at 76,059, down 331 points from the previous week. The Nifty closed at 23,767, down 0.43% from the previous week. The losses were due to the escalation of the West Asia conflict and the blockade at the Suez Canal.
