ED Conducts Searches in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir in Narco-Terror Funding Probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches at nine locations in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir in connection with an alleged narco-terror funding case. The investigation has revealed a 'well-organised and multi-layered' narco-terror funding network operating in the region. The ED has frozen Rs 49.9 lakh in connection with the case. The searches were carried out in areas including locations near the Line of Control, among others. The ED has stated that the investigation is ongoing and further action will be taken as necessary. The case is being investigated under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
