Ex-India Cricketer Criticises Rohit Sharma Retirement Speculation

Deep Dasgupta, a former India wicketkeeper, has expressed his frustration over the speculation surrounding Rohit Sharma's retirement during India's ODI series against England. Dasgupta stated that the retirement rumours should never have gained traction while the team was still competing. The debate erupted after Rohit's early dismissal in the second ODI at Cardiff, with reports claiming the veteran opener would retire from ODIs after the series finale at Lord's. Dasgupta's comments come as a response to the media frenzy surrounding Rohit's future, which he believes was unnecessary and distracting for the team. The series is currently ongoing, with India trailing 1-2 against England.
