CRKD Nitro Deck 2 review: a great but heavy Switch 2 handheld controller
The CRKD Nitro Deck 2 is available now for 89 dollars and 99 cents in the United States, with the same numerical price in British pounds and 161 Australian dollars. It clamps around a Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, adds a protective backplate and kickstand, and works wirelessly or wired with PC and mobile devices. The standout feature is a pair of adjustable joysticks with dials that let players change stick tension at any time, plus a no-dead-zone mode through the companion app. Battery life runs between 15 and 20 hours, matching the maker's claim in testing. The main trade-off is comfort: the unit weighs about 363 grams on its own and becomes heavy with a console installed, while the grip angle and rear buttons can feel awkward during upright play. For buyers wanting one accessory that replaces separate grips, a case and a multiplatform gamepad, the price undercuts buying several dedicated items.
